The Prospect Commission On Aging meeting was called to order at 10:00 am by Miriam Caouette, Co-Chairperson.

Members Absent: Jeannette Lampron, Michael Rutkowski
Others Present: Mayor Robert Chatfield, Jean Reilly, Bill Brown
A motion was made by Joe Thompson, seconded by Al Miele to approve the minutes of the regular meeting June 2, 2003. Vote Unanimous.
Director’s Report: Lucy reported the Senior Prom went very well. Every one who attended had a good time. The renovations to the downstairs rooms are coming along. Two pool tables have been ordered, the rugs are going in soon. The horseshoe pit is in place. The town crew did the landscaping and a gentleman on behalf of the Grange put it in. The Eagle Scout who put in the garden did a wonderful job every one likes it. The new person hired to take Ruby’s place, Betty, is working out very well but, Ruby is missed. Toni Barnes is out for six weeks for an operation. Lucy is interviewing for the fuel oil assistance program. Gina Ash obtained a grant from W.C.A.A.
Jean Reilly made a motion to accept the Director’s report, seconded by Al Miele.

New Business: Miriam asked Mayor Bob about grants. Mayor Bob said he would address that in Public Participation.
AARP Report: The next meeting is November 7, 2003. Christmas Dinner at San Marino’s on December 10th.
Senior Club Report: Richard Kuhn said parking needed to be straightened out. Lucy said more people are using the lot down by the new pool room. Richard asked Mayor Bob about the new end of the existing parking lot, if it will be paved soon. Mayor Bob said it is still settling.
Public Participation: Mayor Bob reported on the new rooms being re-done downstairs. There will be a social room with a ping pong table and a pool room with two new tables. Louis Nicole offered to put on a Senior Prom next year. The horseshoe pit was installed by Tim Meehan financed by the Grange. A bird feeder was installed in the window of the new garden. The parking lot between the Police Station and the Senior Center is not being used enough. There is now parking on the grass and the black strip on fire department land. The problem of water getting in the new basement room will be addressed. There was a brief discussion regarding grants.
A motion was made by Richard Kuhn, seconded by Jean Reilly to adjourn the meeting at 10:25 am.
