Old Business:
a. Diversified Builders, 207 Maple Avenue, Cheshire. House and Septic within a Regulated Area - Lot 3, Brookshire Drive. Chairman Koehler noted that a site walk was held on September 6, 2000. Jim Kulpa, of Milone & MacBroom, Inc., representing the applicant, submitted a letter from the Regional Water Authority dated September 5, 2000 indicating that the site is not within a direct aquifer recharge area or public water supply watershaed. A letter from the Cheshire Inland Wetland & Watercourses Commission dated September 7, 2000 was read requesting that appropriate measures be taken top protect all wetlands and watercourse potentially impacted by the proposed activity, particularly to ensure sedimant and erosion controls are installed and maintained. The letter also suggested the inclusion of a buffer along the site's watercourse to protect it from lawn fertilizers. J. Piotrowski and H. Bernier attended the site walk and noted that on the eastern property line there are large boulders stockpiled about 15 feet high that need to be removed and the silt fencing needs to be replaced. J. Kaufman asked if the septic system could be placed where the reserve area is indicated. Mr. Kulps stated it was easier for gravity purposes to use the lower spot rather than raise the elevation of the house. The use of shrub typeplantings and perennials was suggested for a buffer to help slow down any runoff of lawn fertilizers into the stream. Motion by J. Kaufman, seconded by J. Piotrowski to approve Application #03-2000, Lot 3, Mountain Brook Estates per drawing by Milone & MacBroom, Inc., Project #1386-7-9, dated July 11, 2000 with the stipulation that the stockpile debris on the early side be removed from the site, and in accordance with the letter from the Cheshire Inland Wetlands Commission, a buffer be installed 25-30 feet south from the center line of the stream with permanent type plantings such as perennials or shrubs. Unanimous.
