Participants will be making a safety pin bracelet on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 10:00 am. The cost is $6.00. It may not sound very nice but you really have to see it to appreciate it. We found one advertised in a very high end magazine for $19.95. Stop in at the Senior Center. It is on display in the lobby. Pre-registration is required.
Put on your dancing shoes!! It will be held on MOnday, November 16, 2009 from 1 pm to 3 pm. This social will be featuring Vinnie Carr. The cost is $6.00 per person. Light refreshments will be served. Registration is required.

On Monday, November 23, 2009, Edie Hardwick from the Lutheran Home of Southbury will be here to discuss issues related to memory loss. Edie is the Program Manager of "Scattering the Clouds", a program which offers help and support to families of people suffering from Alzheimer's disease and other forms of severe memory loss. edie has a MA in Human Development/Gerontology from St. Joseph College in West Hartford, CT. She is a Master Trainer in Dementia Care through the Alzheimer's Association. Join us beginning at 10 am for this ver informative program!
Join us for our annual Thanksgiving Day luncheon at the Senior Center on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 11:30 am. Enjoy all the traditional holiday fre - turkey, stuffing, gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, veggies and pumpkin pie! After lunch we will be entertained by the "Sounds og Nancy Sousa". Seating is limited, so please sign up early. The cost for the luncheon is $7.00 per person.
FREE Bus Dial-A-Ride Transportation is available for Seniors. The program allows disabled residents and senior citizens age 60 and over the opportunity to go shopping , make medical appointments and visit other locations within the region's coverage area in Cheshire, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Prospect, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, and Wolcott. The program is on a first come first serve basis. For more information, contact the Prospect Senior Center at 758-5300.
Common wheelchairs and certain scooters can be brought along on the bus, as well as personal care attendants accompanying eligible participants. Residents do not have to be a member of the Prospect Senior Center to apply, and the service is also available for non-senior residents who are disabled.
