Approved Minutes
April 14, 2010

The Board of Recreation meeting was called to order by Mike Palmerie and seconded by Mary Witham at 7:48p.m.

Board Members Present: Mary Gluck, Mary Witham, Larry Fitzgerald, and Mike Palmerie, Jr.
Board Members Absent: Dick Cipriano and Dean Accetura
Also Present: Christopher Moffo, Director of Parks and Recreation

Guest / Public Participation:
• None

Program Director’s Report:
• The Board of Recreation members reviewed the Program Director’s Report.
• C. Moffo informed the Board of Recreation that Sandra Marchant was invited to complete at the national competition for fencing. The Board of Recreation discussed the possibility of helping Sandra Marchant with sponsorship. C. Moffo will speak with the mayor regarding this possibility.

Correspondence / Payment of Bills:
• C. Moffo reviewed bills received:
• Mary Witham made a motion to approve payment of the bills received and Larry Fitzgerald seconded the motion. Motion unanimous. Payment of the bills was approved.
• C. Moffo reviewed the bills paid.

Approval of Minutes:
• The Board of Recreation reviewed the February 17, 2010 meeting minutes. A motion was made by Mary Witham to approve the minutes and Larry Fitzgerald seconded the motion. Motion unanimous. The February 17, 2010 meeting minutes were approved.

Old Business:
• The Board of Recreation discussed the issue of the evergreen trees at Hotchkiss Field. C. Moffo informed the Board of Recreation that the Mayor stated he will take care of the situation.

New Business:
• The Board of Recreation discussed having the tennis courts at Canfield Park resurfaced. The Board of Recreation discussed putting out a bid for this job.
• The Board of Recreation discussed recent vandalism that has occurred at the field as well as malfunctioning and/or broken cameras at the field. The Board of Recreation agreed to have the cameras fixed at Hotchkiss Field as well as installing additional cameras at the restrooms and the front entrance.
• The Board of Recreation discussed washing the siding and concrete at the restrooms at Hotchkiss Field as well as the vandalism at the skate park. The Board of Recreation agreed to move ahead with this cleaning at a cost of $1,500 quoted by the Spirit of 76.

Motion made by Mary Witham and seconded by Mary Gluck to adjourn. Motion unanimous. The meeting adjourned at 8:17p.m.
