Native American Beading

There will be an Into to Native American Beading for teens and adults starting on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:30 am.

In this class, you will learn some intricate techniques that will make beautiful necklaces, amulet pouches and so much more. The Comanche brick stitch, the Peyote stitch and the Oglala Butterfuly necklace are all techniques that the native American Indians have used for centuries to embellish and create works of art.

Projects will start one week, they will take it home to work on it during the week and then bring it back the following week to learn how to finish it up. Each project takes about 2 hours or so to complete unless they choose to make it more detailed. All supplies that you will need to get are inexpensive at Michael's Art Supplies, and each project is expected to cost $5 to $10 depending on how detailed you make the project.

The classes will be held at the Chapel Hall for a 4 week session. The cost is $30 per person and you need to buy the beads for the projects. Thread, needles and instructions will be provided and also everything needed for the first class will be provided.

PLEASE NOTE: All registrations and payments must be made to the Prospect Board of Recreation. To register, contact Chris Moffo at Town Hall at 203-758-4461.
