Soar into Technology for the Summer

These programs are something fun and educational for children to engage in after school. Our technology classes provide developmentally appropriate challenges, thru fun-filled and hands-on activities.

LEGO IN MOTION 

For children in 1st through 3rd grades
Classes Held: July 5 - July 7
From: 1pm - 4pm at at Chapel Hall

Calling all Lego enthusiasts and builders to this program.  We put fun in motion as students learn how to use wheels and axles, motors, kinetic energy and balance to create numerous contraptions which will be powered with motors and battery packs. We will experiment with different models in different sessions. Projects may include dragster, tractor, race car and more. All Lego lab kits used are for classroom use only.

FEE for Residents: $95
FEE for Non-Residents: $100

VIDEO Animation Gaming

For children in Grades 4th thru 8th
Classes Held: July 19 - July 21
From: 1pm - 4pm at at Chapel Hall

Entering 4th thru 8th Grades Students will be using the software program ‘Scratch’ developed by MIT Media Lab to create animation, music videos,  Pac man like video games and more.  Creations from this class along with a copy of this software will be sent home so they can continue to have fun!

FLIGHTS & ROCKETS 

For children in Grades 1st thru 3rd
Classes Held: Aug. 2 - Aug. 4
From: 1pm - 4pm at at Chapel Hall

Building projects may include paper airplanes, balloon cars, stomp rockets, water rockets and more. These hands-on projects provide students opportunities to experiment with the basics of aeronautics such as thrust and drag, lift and weight.  They will have a BLAST!

All Classes are being taught by Computer Explorers staff.
