Prospect's Board of Recreation will again be sponsoring dance and fitness classes with instructor Debbie Walsh. Mrs. Walsh has previously owned her own dance studio, has performed internationally including in Russia and Israel, and she is a mom in Prospect. All classes will be held at the Grange Hall.
There will be a 9 session class "Creative Ballerinas-Level 1" course for girls, ages 3 1/2 - 5, on Fridays from 10:00 - 10:45 am. The theme for this class, which focuses on ballet and creative movement, will be The Little Mermaid/Under the Sea. The session will run from September 16st through November 18th. The fee for this session is $45 per person. There will be no class on November 11th.
There will be a 9 session class "Creative Ballerinas-Level 2" course for girls, ages 3 1/2 - 5, on Mondays from 1:30 - 2:15 pm. The theme for this class will be The Nutcracker, and the course fee for this course is $45. This class runs from September 12th through November 14th. There will be no class on October 10th.
There will be a 9 session class "Creative Ballerinas-Level 3" course for girls, ages 4 - 5, on Wednesdays 1:30 - 2:15 pm, beginning September 14th through November 16th. Class theme will be Storybook Ballets featuring Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Cinderella, Swan Lake and The Magical Ballet Slippers. This class is designed for those who have already taken "Creative Ballerinas 1-2" with Mrs. Walsh or have had other related dance experience. The fee for this session is $45 per person. There will be no class held on October 19th.
This program is for kindergarten age girls. The theme will be a Dancing Princesses. This is a 60 minute class. The pre-ballet portion is 40 minutes and the pre-tap is 20 minutes. There are two course options:

This nine session course will begin September 13th and continue through November 15th. The fee for this class is $60. There will not be a class held on November 8th.
This is a 9-session course for girls, in 3rd through 5th grades, and will meet on Tuesdays from 5:15 - 6:15. This is a 60 minute class. The ballet portion is 40 minutes and the tap is 20 minutes. The course fee is $60.00. Classes will meet on Tuesdays from September 13th through November 15th. There will not be a class held on November 8th.
A 7-session course for boys and girls, ages 3 1/2 to 5 years old, on Wednesdays 10:00 am - 10:45 am. The theme for this class, focusing on rhythms, fitness and creative movement, will be Water, Water--Everywhere!-- (Aquariums, Water Parks and the Beach). The course fee is $35.00. The 7-session course meets on Wednesdays from September 28th through November 16th. There will not be a class held on October 19th.

Payments should be made out to Prospect Parks and Recreation, and non-residents should add $5.00 to the course fee. Payments and registration forms can be submitted to the Town Hall Parks and Recreation Office, 36 Center Street, Prospect, CT 06712. Forms and payments must be submitted before the first class. All classes will be held at the Prospect Grange Hall.
