Conservation Commission

April 16, 2001

Meeting called to order at 7:10 PM by chairman Jean Meehan with Sheri Cocchiola, Alberto Mimo, Harri S. present. Also, Jeff DiMaria and his father present along with Michael Dreher.

Jeff DiMaria gave his report on the Nature Trail at the Hotchkiss Field with plans to start very soon. He had photos of different areas on the trail and explained extensively what he plans to do.

Alberto said the best signs we know of were made by Joe Fosko from Sessions Wild Life Area in Burlington. Maybe Jeff could get in contact with him about his signs and get some ideas from John.

Michael Dreher reported on the what the Concerned Citizens of Prospect have and what they have found concerning a proposed business on Route 69. The Prospect Reservior and wildlife around it is the major concern. There is a seasonal water course that runs through that area.

Alberto was welcomed as a new member.

Minutes of the last meeting was reviewed and a motion by Alberto and seconded by Harri the minutes be accepted. So voted.

Discussion on membership increase. We will work for Jane Fowler to be appointed as a member. Jean will draft a formal letter to Mayor Chatfield asking that Jane Fowler be considered as a new member of the Prospect Conservation Commission.

Project Bird House was discussed. Alberto said he could have the house cut out and will need people to nail them together. These bird houses will be put up around town.

Sheri said she will put an article in the Prospect Pages to give life to our Conservation Commission.

Being no more business a motion to adjourn by Harri S. and seconded by Sheri C. So voted.
