Barbara Peterson spoke about the Prospect Conservation Commission Book Shelf being moved to a more prominet place in the library.
Gwenn Fischer from the Prospect Pages and Fischer Signs discussion about news articles and a Nature Trail Sign size 3 ft by 3 ft with Round Conservation Commission logo. Pamphlets were also discussed and their location at the Town Hall and possibly attached to the back of the sign in a weather proof container.
Jean Meehan informed everyone the reason we have heard about any appointments to the Commission maybe because it was an election year and the Mayor appoints members to the commission. Mayor Chatfield said we were all re-appointed and would attend our next meeting in February.
Jeff DiMaria shared his pictures of his Eagle Scout Project ... The Nature Trail ... He had not received his award yet, but is waiting to be notified. Pictures were chosen to go in the Prospect Pages with an article to announce the Spring opening of the Nature Trail. Sheri Cocchiola volunteered to write the article.
Jean Meehan said she will write an article that will go in next issue of the Prospect Pages about the achievements of the Prospect Conservation Commission over the past year.
Jane Fowler said she found sketches of the original gardens around the Hotchkiss House. She will like the Prospect Conservation Commission to take on the project of helping to restore these gardens.
Gary Baldowski made a motion the minutes of the last meeting were accepted as written. Seconded by Sheri Cocchiola. So voted.
Joel Miesel was thanked for his many years of participation on the Prospect Conservation Commisson and Jean Meehan presented him with a small token of thanks from the members.
Tisa-Lynn Meehan was introduced as the new recording clerk for the Prospect Conservation Commission.
Possible New Projects
A discussion about a possible Nature Trail on the land near Long River Middle School. The pond area would be the perfect place. There would be little work to complete it.
A discussion about purchasing more books for the book shelf during this next year.
A motion to renew our membership in the Prospect Land Trust and the Conservation Wetland Organization by Gary Baldowski and seconded by Sheri Cocchiola was made. So voted.
Being no more business a motion made by Sheri Cocchiola and seconded by Gary Baldowski the meeting be adjourned. So voted.
