Conservation Commission

May 9, 2002

Members present: Harrie Semaskvich, Sheri Cocchiola and Jean Meehan

Members absent: Gary Baldowski and Alberto Mimo

Meeting called to order at 7:30 P.M. by chairperson Jean Meehan.

The minutes were reviewed and a motion was made by Harrie and seconded by Sheri to accept the minutes. So voted.

Correspondence were reviewed.

Old Business: Harrie presented a bill for the plexiglass for the Nature Trail sign for $54.00. A motion was made by Sheri and seconded by Jean to pay the bill. So voted.

Plants to be planted at the Hotchkiss House by the Prospect Conservation Commission will cost around $200. A motion was made by Harrie and seconded by Jean for the Commission to pay the bill when it comes in. So voted.

The re-opening of the Nature Trail will be June 8th from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. We will furnish juice and donuts.

The books have arrived and will be taken to the Prospect Public Library for the bookshelf.

Harrie said Connecticut Trail Day is June 1st. He will have a hike from Roaring Brook Falls to the YMCA Camp over Sanford Mountain and back. Approximately 6 miles. Jean will advertise it in the Prospect Pages.

New Business: Need new projects. Jean will talk to the Mayor about projects and possibly getting new members.

Being no more business a motion to adjourn by Sheri and seconded by Harrie. So voted.
