The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by Chairperson Jean Meehan.
It was noted that Bill Donovan requested that members from the Conservation Commission either attend or write a letter for the May 26 Planning and Zoning meeting. A letter should be sent to Bill Donovan stating that the Conservation Commission was not allotted enough time to review material to speak at the Planning and Zoning meeting on May 26, 2004. Gary to find out if an advisory meeting can be held with Bill Donovan in order to discuss exactly what the Town would like the Conservation Commission to comment on with respect to the subdivision regulations
There was discussion regarding the regulations and specifications of designated amounts of acreage in town.
Review of the Draft Subdivision Regulations issued by the Town.
Sheri provided a list of the title of the books purchased for the library by the Conservation Commission.
Discussion regarding the Conservation Commission working with the water company regarding walking trails, nature walks, etc. and set asdie an area similiar to that of the Audubon Society for people to walk through and enjoy. We would need to talk to the Town Attorney to find our what our legal options are. Gary stated he would call Bill Donovan to find out the name of the town attorney.
Environmental
Alberto indicated that he would take care of contacting the DEP and Kellogg Environmental Center.
Harrie stated he would contact Connecticut Forest and Park Environment regarding their participation in Environmental Day.
Harrie stated he would like more feedback as to natrue walks and puting up more signs. Harrie said he would pick up the sign and store it in his garage.
Connecticut Trails Day to be held on June 5, 2004
A motion was made by Gary and seconded by Alberto to adjourn the meeting at 9:00 p.m.
