Chairwoman S. McKernan called a meeting of the Prospect Public Library to order at 7:07 p.m.
Members Present: S. McKernan, C. Moschella, J. Kennelly (arrived 7:10 p.m.), T. Marczewski, T. Misset, K. Senese
Members Absent: M. Bryne, J. Reilly
Others Present: B. Peterson
Public Participation: none
Correspondence: A thank you letter was received from Trudy, regarding the gift sent to her from the Board.
The next regular meeting date is Thursday, February 13, 2003.
Approval of Minutes: General discussion, change made to "next regular meeting date" to reflect the correct year of 2003. T. Marczewski made a motion to accept the minutes of the meeting held December 12, 2002 with the change indicated. Second by T. Misset. Motion carried unanimously.
Treasurer's Report: A general discussion of the Treasurer's report (prepared by B. Peterson). T. Misset made a motion to accept the Treasurer's report as prepared. Second by T. Marczewski. Motion carried unanimously.
Librarian's Report: A general discussion. A motion to accept the Librarians report made by T. Marczewski. Second by K. Senese. Motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Bills: Motion made by T. Marczewski to pay the bills as presented. Seconded by T. Misset. Motion carried unanimously.
Chairman's Report: Discussion relative to un-shoveled walks during inclement weather upon staff arrival. Barb Peterson spoke to Mayor Chatfield who insured her that walkways will be done prior to staff arriving at the lirary. Barb Peterson also requested a bucket of sand for the sidewalks that ice up during the day. Gene McCarthy raised a concern that the sand would cause damage to the carpeting in the library. Library staff will continue to use the "D-Icer" product they have been using which is not harmful to the carpet.
Old Business: Technology Report: General discussion.
New Business: General Discussion regarding budget for fiscal year 2003-2004. J. Kennelly made a motion to accept the budget for fiscal year 2003-2004 in the amount of $236,340.00. T. Misset seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
