Board of Directors Meeting

August 14, 2008

PROSPECT PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Prospect Public Library Board of Directors meeting was called to order by Chairperson Susan H. McKernan, at 7:08 p.m. at the Prospect Public Library.

Members Present: Susan McKernanCarole Moschella, Nancy Via, Judy Kennelly, Lorraine Dixon,Kathleen Greene, Ira Kamm and Suzanne Loud.

Members Absent: Shirley Sabo

Others Present: Barbara Smith, Loren Webber

Public Absent: None

Correspondence: Card from Joyce Blinstrubas wanting permission to plant a tree on library property in memory of Angie Champagne.

Next Meeting Date:
Meeting to be held on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Prospect Public Library.

Approval of Previous Minutes dated June 19, 2008:
The minutes were read. Lorraien Dixon moved that the minutes be approved as submitted and Ira Kamm seconded the motion. Motion unanimous.

Treasurer's Report: A general discussion was held. A motion was made by Suzanne Loud to accept the July and August 2008 Treasurer's Report, seconded by Judy Kennelly. Unanimous.

Librarian's Report: A general discussion was held. Nancy Via moved that the Librarian's Report be accepted, seconded by Kathleen Greene. Unanimous.

Approval of Bills: A general discussion was held. Motion by Lorraine Dixon to accept the bills as presented, seconded by Judy Kennelly. Motion unanimous.

Chairman's Report: Chairperson Susan H. McKernan commented on the excellent quality and success of the programs that have been presented to the town's children at the library over the summer.

Old Business: None

New Business: A motion was made by Lorraine Dixon to advertise for a library custodian for 15 hours per week at a pay rate between $9.25 and $9.50, seconded by Ira Kamm. Motion unanimous.

The library will be closed on September 20, 2008 because the carnival is being held that day.

A motion was made at 8:00 p.m. by Nancy Via to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Lorraine Dixon. Motion unanimous.
