The Prospect Public Library Board Special meeting was called to order by Chairperson Susn McKernan at 6:02 p.m. at the Propsect Public Library.

Members Present: Susan McKernan, Nancy Via, Kathleen Greene, Judy Kennelly, Lorraine Dixon, Ira Kamm, and Suzanne Loud.

Members Absent: Carole Moschella, Shirley Sabo

Others Present: Barbara Smith, Loren Webber

Correspondence: A resignation letter was read from Nancy Bracket who can no longer be the board clerk.

Next Meeting Date:
The next meeting will be held on March 13, 2008 at 7 PM.

Approval of Previous Minutes dated November 8, 2007:
The minutes were read. Lorraine Dixon moved that the minutes be approved and Nancy Via seconded the motion. Motion unanimous.

Treasurer's Report: General discussion. A motion was made by Ira Kamm to accept the February treasurer's reports, seconded by Kathleen Greene. Motion unanimous.

Librarian's Report: A general discussion was held regarding the Director's Report for February. It was noted that linkis for ICONN databases for students have been added to the Prospect Library's homepage. Lorriane Dixon moved that the Librarian's report be accepted, Nancy Via seconded. Motion unanimous.

Technology Report: General Discussion was held regarding computers.

Approval of Bills: A general discussion was held. Two bills were removed from the list. A state workshop was cancelled and no board clerk for February meeting. Lorraine Dixon moved to accept the bills with corrections, Ira Kamm seconded. Motion unanimous.

Chairman's Report: Susan McKernan reported on a meeting with Robert Chatfield concerning the next fiscal year budget and possible uses of memorial contributions made to the library in memory of Dominic Moschella.

Old Business: Lorraine Dixon moved and Judy Kennelly seconded that the proposed Prospect Library budget for 2008/2009 be approved. Generla discussion followed with a few corrections. Nancy Via moved and Ira Kamm seconded that the corrections be accepted. Motion unanimous. Motion to accept the proposed budget with corrections was unanimous.

New Business: Lorraine Dixon moved and Ira Kamm seconded that the gazebo be dedicated in memory of Dominic Moschella. Motion unanimous. The event will be celebrated on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 4:00 pm. Rain date will be June 7, 2008. Judy Kennelly, Kathleen Greene and Nancy Via will be on a committee in charge of the celebration.

A motion was made at 6:55 p.m. by Nancy Via to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Judy Kennelly. Motion carried unanimously.
