The Prospect Public Library Board of Directors special meeting was called to order by Chairperson Susan H. McKernan, at 6:25 p.m. at 33 Peach Orchard Road, Prospect.

Members Present: Susan McKernan, Carole Moschella, Nancy Via, Judy Kennelly, Lorraine Dixon, and Suzanne Loud.

Members Absent: Shirley Sabo, Kathleen Greene, Ira Kamm

Others Present: Barbara Smith, Loren Webber

Public Absent: None

Correspondence: Card from Moschella family acknowledging the dedication of the gazebo was a wonderful tribute to Dom.

Meeting to be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Prospect Public Library.

Approval of Previous Minutes dated May 1, 2008:
The minutes were read. Nancy Via moved that the minutes be approved as submitted and Lorraine Dixon seconded the motion. Motion unanimous.

Treasurer's Report: A general discussion was held. A motion was made by Judy Kennelly to accept the June 2008 Treasurer's Report, seconded by Carole Moschella. Unanimous.

Librarian's Report: A general discussion was held. Carole Moschella moved that the Librarian's Report be accepted, seconded by Lorraine Dixon. Unanimous.

Approval of Bills: A general discussion was held. Motion by Nancy Via to accept the bills as presented, seconded by Lorraine Dixon. Motion unanimous.

Chairman's Report: Congratulations to Judy and the staff for a great job on the gazebo dedication ceremony. Plumb Farms did a great job on the flowers. Reminder to vote on Monday, June 23rd for the Town Budget.

Old Business: Motion by Judy Kennelly, seconded by Carole Moschella to purchase a new display bookcase for $3,175.00. Motion unanimous.

Motion by Lorraine Dixon, seconded by Suzanne Loud, to approve spending up to $4,000 for the purchase of a new couch and chair for the sitting area. Motion unanimous.

New Business: A general discussion was held on purchasing a projector for the Community Room with a price range between $600 and $1200.

A motion was made at 7:16 p.m. by Nancy Via to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Carole Moschella. Motion unanimous.
