PROSPECT PUBLIC LIBRARYThe Prospect Public Library Board of Directors meeting was called to order by Chairperson Susan H. McKernan, at 7:13 p.m. at the Prospect Public Library.

Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Prospect Public Library
Motion by Lorraine Dixon, seconded by Nancy Via to add an Executive Session to discuss library security issues to the agenda. Motion Unanimous.
Motion by Nancy Via, seconded by Carole Moschella to add the resignation of Shirley Sabo to the agenda. Motion Unanimous.
Approval of Previous Minutes dated August 14, 2008:
Barbara Smith noted the Library was going to be closed on September 20, 2008 not September 19, 2008. Lorraine Dixon moved that the minutes be approved as amended and Nancy Via seconded the motion. Motion Unanimous.
Treasurer's Report: A general discussion was held. A motion was made by Judy Kennelly to accept the September, 2008 Treasurer report, seconded by Kathleen Greene. Motion Unanimous.
Librarian's Report: A general discussion was held. A motion was made by Lorraine Dixon to accept the Librarian’s report, seconded by Nancy Via. Motion Unanimous.
Approval of Bills: A general discussion was held. Motion by Nancy Via to accept the bills for payment as presented, seconded by Lorraine Dixon. Motion Unanimous.
Chair's Report: None
Old Business: A general discussion was held on quotes obtained for security systems for the library.
New Business: A general discussion was held on the Revised Policy for Unattended Children.
A general discussion was held regarding the quotes given by Ed The Treeman and Brothers Tree Service for the removal of a stressed tree on Library property. Motion by Judy Kennelly to hire Ed The Treeman for a price of $2,000.00 to cut down the tree and $400.00 to grind the tree, seconded by Nancy Via. Motion Unanimous.
Lorraine Dixon made a motion to accept the resignation of Shirley Sabo with regret. Motion was seconded by Suzanne Loud. Motion Unanimous.
Motion by Carole Moschella to go into Executive Session at 8:21 p.m. to discuss library security issues, seconded by Suzanne Loud. Barbara Smith and Loren Webber were invited to join the Executive Session. Motion Unanimous.
No motions were made while in Executive Session.
A motion was made at 9:39 p.m. by Suzanne Loud to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Carole Moschella. Motion carried unanimously.
