The Regular Town Council meeting was called to order by Chair Cynthia L. Gibbons at 7:01 P.M. Following the pledge attendance was called. Members present: Robert Doyon, Patricia Geary, Cynthia Gibbons, Theresa Graveline, Thomas Hallaway, Domenic Jannetty, Douglas Merriman, Edward Miller @ 7:04 P.M., and Dominick Mirabelle.
Mayor Chatfield was not in attendance for the meeting.
Chair, C. Gibbons, reviewed letter re: State of Conn. Regional School Districts subcommittee, request for survey to be filled out by August 1st. D. Merriman & P. Geary volunteered to fill out survey.
Nothing new to report on the 49 Talmadge Hill Road property.
Sewer Regulation Ordinance - Motion made by P. Geary, 2nd by T. Graveline to hold a Public Hearing on August 20, 2002 @ 6:45 P.M. Motion Unanimous
P. Geary reviewed meeting of the Pension/Benefits subcommittee. Subcommittee selected an Anthem BC supplemental Medicare plan for retirees 65 and over. Specifically Plan F, $148.22 for medical, $110.08 for prescriptions with $5-$10 co-pay. $258.30 total cost of plan, 5% to be paid by the retiree. P. Geary indicated that resolution was approved last year and that one employee will be participating as of August.

Chair, C. Gibbons, asked that the Ordinance subcommittee meet July 29th @ 8 A.M. in order to address an ordinance pertaining to the Zoning Inspector.
Pointed out that the Water Pollution control Authority will be in attendance at the August 20th council meeting.
Motion made by P. Geary, 2nd by D. Merriman to add executive session to the agenda to discuss negotiations relative to purchase of Scott Road property and invite Attorney Casagrande to attend. Motion Unanimous.

Motion made by P. Geary, 2nd by D. Merriman to rescind motion to go into executive session to allow D. Mirabelle to discuss letter previously submitted concerning the athletic fields.
D. Mirabelle indicated that he never received a response from Council, Board of Recreation or the Mayor. P. Geary suggested that issue be brought up at the next Ordinance Subcommittee meeting. Motion made by T. Graveline, 2nd by P. Geary to pass on to ordinance subcommittee at the July 29th meeting for consideration if time allows. Unanimous
Motion made by P. Geary, 2nd D. Merriman to go into executive session @ 7:28 P.M. with Atty. Casagrande to discuss negotiations relative to purchase of Scott Road property. Motion Unanimous. D. Jannetty & T. Graveline recused themselves from the executive session.
