The Town Council meeting was called to order by Joseph Commendatore, Chair at 7:30 p.m.
Members present: Joseph Commendatore, Robert Doyon, Patricia Geary, Douglas Merriman, Dominick Mirabelle, Dominic Moschella, Theresa Graveline and Roger Kergaravat.
Members absent: Frederick Harkins
Motion made by D. Merriman to remove the mill rate from table. Motion seconded by P. Geary. Motion discussed.
Mayor Chatfield reviewed the revenue sheet with the Council. The proposed back tax collection is set by the tax collector. Page 3, Education Grant for Region 16 increased to $4,443,912. and the town received a Property Tax Relief grant in the amount of $46,397. The amount received from Pequot is $58,297. The total projected revenue is $5,711,547.09.

Divided by 98.00% (expected tax collection rate) 18, 679,806.83 Divided by 1 mill; 778,737.21 EQUALS 23.98 mills.
Motion made by R. Doyon that the Town Council set the tax rate for the 2006-2007 fiscal year at 23.98 mills and to waive collectiion of tax bills that calculate to less than $2.00. Motion seconded by D. Mirabelle.

Mayor Chatfield recommended a town meeting date for the payloader lease approval be set at the next Town Council meeting.
Mayor Chatfield reported he has not received the contract for the Cambridge Drive water line extention therefore no action can be taken at this time.
Motion made by T. Graveline to adjourn to executive session including the Mayor to discuss 11 Center Street property. Motion seconded by R. Doyon.Unanimous Motion seconded by R. Doyon. Unanimous The Council adjourned into executive session at 7:40 p.m.

Motion made by D. Moschella to set a public hearing for the purchase of 11 Center Street on June 6, 2006 at 7 p.m. The regular Town Council meeting will immediately follow the public hearing. Motion seconded by D. Mirabelle. Unanimous.
