The Special Town Council Meeting was called to order by Joseph Commendatore, Chair at 7:01 p.m.
Members Present: J. Commendatore, P. Geary, T. Graveline (7:04 p.m.) F. Harkins, D. Merriman, D. Mirabelle, and D. Moschella.
Members Absent: R. Kergaravat and R. Doyon
Public Participation: none
Chairman Commendatore stated that Atty. John Knott informed him and the Mayor that the Council needs to act on this Resolution in some way either to accept and send to the WPCA, deny, or propose a change. A representative from Toll Brothers contacted Chairman Commendatore and stated that they have agreed to pay $2,750.00 per unit to Waterbury. Waterbury agreed to receive the payments in principal within 30 days of the issuance of each Certificate of Occupancy. Chairman Commendatore read the Resolution into the record. (See “Schedule A”)
Motion made by D. Merriman to approve the Resolution as presented. Motion seconded by D. Moschella.
Motion unanimous.
P. Geary asked about the four million dollar tax advantage to Prospect. She was wondering where this figure came from. P. Geary stated that she is happy to see this agreement. Chairman Commendatore stated that the tax advantage to Prospect is probably closer to three million dollars.
D. Mirabelle asked if anything will be changed in the agreement. Chairman Commendatore stated only grammatical changes .
P. Geary asked that Chairman Commendatore states Prospect’s involvement in this agreement.
Chairman Commendatore stated that the Town of Prospect is not contributing any tax money to the City of Waterbury.
Motion unanimous.
Motion made by D. Merriman to adjourn the special meeting at 7:08 p.m. Motion seconded by D. Moschella.
