Prospect Town Council

November 16, 2010

Chairman Tom Galvin called the meeting to order @7:00 P.M. The meeting was held at the Town Hall, lower level conference room.

Members Present: S. Pilat, D. Merriman, R. Doyon, T. Graveline, M. Scaviola, C. Graveline, P. Geary and T. Galvin.

Members Absent: Jeff Slapikas

Mayor's Report:
During the Prospect Town Council's November 16, 2010 meeting, Mayor Robert J. Chatfield held an assembly for the Woodland Jr. Hawks Football and Cheerleading teams and their coaches for the winning season. Mayor Chatfield, the Prospect Town Council, Beacon Falls' Dominick Sorrentino and State Representative Vickie O. Nardello were on hand to congratulate the teams. The teams will be competing for the 'Grand Prize' of a trip to Disney World.

T. Galvin requested a 'Recess' for the Council to talk with the athletes and their parents. The meeting recessed @ 7:25 P.M. The meeting resumed @ 7:33 P.M.

Mayor Chatfield advised the Council that the Annual "Prospect Tree Lighting' festivities will be held on November 27, 2010 @ 5 P.M., the 'Tree Lighting' will be @ 6 P.M.

Tom Galvin requested a motion for an 'Executive Session' for real estate matters and to invite Mayor Chatfield to attend. Motion made by R. Doyon to convene to an 'Executive Session' and to invite Mayor Robert J. Chatfield to attend. Motion seconded by S. Pilat. Unanimous. The meeting convened to an 'Executive Session' @ 7:36 P.M.

The meeting reconvened from an 'Executive Session' at 7:58 P.M. No votes were taken or motions were made.

P. Geary inquired on the status of the Wind Turbine project. Mayor Chatfield advised he had not heard as to a Public Hearing date, but was still trying to contact the Siting Council. Discussion.

Discussion Motion made by D. Merriman to place correspondence on file. Motion seconded by T. Graveline. Unanimous

Motion made by S. Pilat to approve the meeting dates of the Prospect Town Council for the 2011 year. Motion seconded by C. Graveline. Discussion T. Graveline suggested eliminating the date of November 8, 2011 due to local elections. Motion made by S. Pilat to approve the meeting dates of the Prospect Town Council for the 2011 year as amended. Motion seconded by C. Graveline. Unanimous

Old Business:
T. Galvin advised the Blight Ordinance committee had met. The committee is working in ways to make the Ordinance easier to interpret. The committee will be meeting again on December 7.
