Vice-Chairman Stan Pilat called the meeting to order @ 7:00 P.M. The meeting was held hi the lower level conference room of Town Hall. The meeting was taped.

Mayor Chatfield expressed his gratitude to the Townspeople and Town Employees from the Chatfield family, for their support and kindness during the family's time of need. Mayor Chatfield extended his appreciation for the overwhelming number of cards and masses given to his mother on her passing.
Mayor Chatfield requested the Council to table the mill rate until the State Budget passes. Motion made by D. Merriman to table the mill rate. Motion seconded by P. Geary. Unanimous.
Mayor Chatfield advised of the following:
Tools Plus' warehouse was relocated from its Waterbury location to Prospect.
A letter was received from the State of Connecticut OPM dated April 16, 2010 regarding 'proceeding with the Town of Prospect's application for an interim change to the Conservation and Development Policies Plan for Connecticut, 2005-2010'.
An email dated 4/26/10 was received regarding MERS update. An 'Executive Session' for Union Contract would not be held.
Work had begun in Cheshire on the gas pipeline. Next year, the work would continue in Prospect.
The transmission on the new pay loader was entirely replaced by Volvo.
On April 25,2010, the following recipients received awards from the Grange for membership: Mrs. Inez Bramhall for 75 years, Mrs. Florine Wheeler 65 years, William & Frances Maxwell 55 years, Mrs. Elaine Graveline and Tina Meehan both for 25 years. Also, a Public Service award was given to the Prospect Fire Chief, Marty Lautenschlager and Theresa Graveline received the Citizen of the Year award.
Discussion:
T. Graveline commented on the size of the signs for the Town's budget referendum. T. Graveline suggested the signs to be 4 x 8 or larger. T. Graveline also commented on displaying the signs for both Regionl6's budget and the Town's budget on the same sign but each a different color. Both T. Graveline and P. Geary commented to add signs to the Town Green and to Rte 68.

J. Slapikas questioned if the Safety Committee was still active. J. Slapikas stated, he would like the Safety Committee to address the issue of the turn signal on Summit Road and Rte 69 before an accident occurs and also he would like some reaction to the accident that occurred in Prospect on Saturday, May 1, 2010. regarding ATV's. D. Merriman commented that he is on the Mayor's appointed Safety Committee and that he would call a meeting.
